The dog days of summer are here — and the course is as busy as ever at Silver Creek Golf Club. Three tournaments were held this week — with the weekend being packed with golfers — both open and tournament play.
On Friday, Silver Creek Golf Club welcomed New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb for his yearly fundraising tournament. The course was in great condition for all of our events — but the Friday event in particular saw a tremendous turnout.
On Saturday, the Rock Stein Memorial Golf Event saw a tremendous turnout as well, as golfers, members, and friends of the Stein’s remembered one of the longest friends of Silver Creek Golf Club.
The new week started off with another event on Sunday, as the Seneca Falls Community Center & Recreation Boosters held their 11th annual golf tournament at Silver Creek Golf Club. A great time was had by everyone who participated, and the club was overjoyed to host such a community oriented event.
As always, the golf course remains in fantastic shape. Late in the day Saturday, some much needed rain fell on the golf course — with about .60 inches of rain falling between 5 pm and 11:30 pm. While the region itself remains in a severe drought — the course is in fantastic condition thanks to the hard work of Superintendent Paul Clark and his team.
Their tireless dedication, extensive efforts on the course, and continued belief in their practices has kept Silver Creek in premier condition throughout the summer.
It’s not too late to hit the links. The weather looks like it will be a little less unsettled this week than it was last week, with temperatures slightly cooler. Highs will remain in the 80s most of the week, with temperatures reaching 90 by weekend.
